Race for Life - Trying to beat cancer.

Its that time of year again when women get the chance to get together and raise a bit of money for a brilliant cause. Most areas have races that will be easy to get to, and its only 5k so most people of various fitness levels are able to join. I have a couple of family members that participate and have told me what fun it is, and lets face it we have all been touched by cancer in one way or another at some point in our lives. Have a go or sponsor some one...its worth it. And for us men, there are the Marie Curie races so theres no excuse not to get involved in some way or another.

How to make a omelette

1ST break three eggs into a bowl and a dash of milk plus salt n pepper to taste. whisk the mixture till you cant see egg whites or yolk, putting plenty of air into the mixture. Put a frying pan onto a high heat with a little oil. Once hot turn down heat and add the egg mixture stirring constantly. At this point you can add other ingredients to taste i.e. cheese peppers onions etc. The mixture should come together and you you can finish it off either by flipping with a spatula, turning out onto a heated plate, or do as I do and pop under the grill for a few minutes. This should just finish off the top side.

Money DOES Buy Happiness

This is my opinion (coming from someone that doesn't have any!) You don't have any stress wondering where your next meal will be coming from or how you are going to pay that bill. You can also DO things with money. Think back to your happiest childhood memories and I bet they will be on holiday or of a day out in a theme park etc, all possible if you have the money! Dont get me wrong, one of my happiest memories is of doing something on a budget, but we still needed money to get there! My Mum used to take us on picnics on the beach because she couldn't afford for us to eat in the restaurant/diner, but she still had to have some money to get us there and buy the food! So the next time someone tells you money cant buy you happiness.....tell them they are lying as I always have a smile on my face when I have a pocket full of cash !!

The Reader

I watched this film called the Reader and it was absolutely amazing! Not only do you get to see Kate Winslet naked, you also get to see some great acting aswell ! I say this hoping that people don't misunderstand this post, I do not condone what happened during WWII but the fantastic acting by Kate Winslet actually makes you feel sorry for a prison guard at Auschwitz! ( which I never thought could be possible) I wont say any more as I dont want to ruin the film, but it is a must see.

Prince William in the Falklands

It is a very tense time at the moment for the Falkland Islands so to announce that the future King of Great Britain and the Commonwealth is coming over to train for six weeks, I do understand the frustration of the Argentinians. But the situation has nothing to do with current tensions. Prince William was always going to serve and train over there and as for the new type 45 destroyer Dauntless going over, I think this is simply so the Prince has a little luxury to train in and nothing more, On the other hand I do see how this must look to the people of Argentina, but hope that most will see that it was just a diplomatic blooper and not an act of aggression. I hope that GB and Argentina can learn to have a great relationship as we both have alot to offer each other.

Best Paid Graffiti Artist

The social networking site Facebook has announced plans to float the company on the stoke market, valuing it at up to £63billion. Now to the likes of you and me, this will not make any difference to our day to day lives. There are however going to be some very rich people floating around as they agreed to do work for the company in the early days and get paid in shares, Primarily I am talking about graffiti artist  David Choe who painted the California office and was paid in shares that are now thought to be worth £126million !!!! This must be the highest paid job for a graffiti artist..........not bad for a one off job !!!!!

Rugby Union Calcutta Cup 2012

Wow, what a fantastic match. It is the first time England have beaten Scotland at Murryfield since 2004, and that was no mean feat seeing as this is the most inexperienced England squad put out since the 1960's. Well done to the new intrim coach Stuart Lancaster. Lets hope there is more of this to come as the new team bonds. As for Scotland's David Denton........ absolutely well deserved man of the match!! So unusual for the title to go to a player on the losing team, but just goes to show how well he fought for his country !!!

How lucky are we to have the NHS

I do appreciate that people do get different levels of service around the UK when using our National Health Service, but if they were in any other country, dependent on wages and social standing. They would have no where near the same level of care that the NHS provides. People need to understand just how lucky we are here. I know that the states do have slightly better health care, but you have to organise your own insurance, and then you are not covered for everything. At least here, you don't have to even think about health insurance. My heart does go out to any one that has suffered as a result of the NHS, but I do believe that this is not entirely the norm,  but this could happen under private health care aswell.

snow in the uk

We get a bit of snow and the whole country comes to a stand still WHY do some countries have snow all year round and manage perfectly well,. In the UK we are well equipped for most emergency situations......except snow !!!! It really is quite embarrassing.

Toilet Golf

I kid you not!!! I was sat in a waiting room, flicking through a catalogue when I came across the most unneeded thing I have ever seen in my entire life! It is a putting set to use whilst sat on the loo!

If you don't believe me, Google it! There are loads of them! I dont know about you, but when I go to the toilet, its generally not to play golf!!!

Eternal Law

There is a new drama series on ITV1 called Eternal Law. I saw a preview for the show and couldn't possibly imagine how it would work but was pleasantly surprised with the first couple of episodes. It is about angels and how they help humans. These particular angels are lawyers who get given awkward cases but its not necessarily the law that the humans might need the help with. The humour is fun with some very witty one liners. If you have seen it, let me know what you think. (I know it sounds douchy, but its ok!)

Android App

I recently purchased a new smart phone with Android. I was really happy with the Market Place and the different apps I could get for free, all in all, good purchase! The only problem I was having was that I had very little battery life without even using the phone! After 6 hours of being off charge, the battery would be dead! I was starting to think that I might have to get ride of the phone, when I stumbled upon a battery super charge app. I installed it thinking that it could not possibly do much, but had nothing to loose. The first day I used it, after 6 hours the battery still had 87% charge in it! I couldn't believe it!

There are lots of these battery savers available for free on the market place and I wholeheartedly advise that you down load one if you have a short battery life as I did.

Ronnie Barker- A Great British Legend

Ronnie Barker- A Great British Legend. He is known for some of our very best British comedy ever written. The wonderful thing about Ronnie Barker was his undying modesty. He wrote some fantastic comical lines, but if he felt they would be better delivered by another actor, he would pass them over. It was all for the best out come for the viewer. He is best known for his writing and roles in Open all Hours, The Two Ronnie's and Porridge. Something that many people don't know however is that Ronnie's cell mate in Porridge- Lenny Godber was played by Richard Beckinsale whose two daughters are also actors. Samantha who was in Londons Burning and Shelley. And Kate who is slightly better known as she is now a Hollywood actress who has starred in many blockbusters such as Pearl Harbour, the underworld series of films and Van Helsing.
Now to get back on track! I highly recommend that you all watch something with Ronnie Barker in, especially Porridge, as it is hilarious !

My favourite actor !

One of my favourite actors is Ed O'Neill. He is well under rated as an actor in my opinion. Two of the best sit-coms ever made worldwide (Modern Family & Married with Children) have him as a lead character, its just a huge shame he is not used in other projects. I highly advise any one reading this blog to  check out both shows as they are outstandingly funny.  This is my humble opinion and hopefully the same for millions of others!!

New years resolution

I said I wouldn't make  new years resolution, but I think I will, and my first one, is to complete assassins creed, and my second, finish jobs on time and the same as most others, to lose weight. My solution? play kinect 3 hours a day, every day!   You can keep your Atkinson's diet to yourself, I'm on the Kinect diet!
